Just wait until he hears about everything he's missed during that time

I would like to just forget about some things, but by and large that would be pretty terrible. 10 yrs of his life taken away he'll never get back.

Something else pretty terrible is when someone lives to be so old they have alzheimers or just memory loss. They ask where loved ones are who died many, many years ago. It's like they have to suffer the loss all over again every time they are told. My grandmother was that way and I would finally just tell her (when she would ask where her mother was or my mother) "They are busy..." or something to that effect. I hope I don't live to be that old and to suffer that fate. That would be awful.

Probably be a lot of things that he'll be glad he missed.
Gotta be a weird feeling, to wake up and find yourself ten years into the future.
Kind of like time travel in a way. I mean when he went unconcious it was even a different millenium.

Well say if I lost conscienceness today and stayed out of it for several years. First thing I would want to know would be how my dogs are. One of them is 14, he would no longer be around. That would be a shocking loss. If I lost my memory and didn't realize my mom died 13 yrs ago it would be devastating all over again when I learned.
That did actually happen to me once. I was in the hospital in 1987 with a serious fever. (107* with a B/P of 72/28) It effected my memory and I wanted to get out of the hospital and see my dog Blackie (who died in 1982). When I realizd he was gone it was very painful, all over again...

If I had been out and had been fed by a tube or something for ten years, I'd want some serious chow when I came out of it.
But, I think I'd really want to just do a lot of the simple stuff too. Go outside, experience everyday life again.
Think of all the history making events that occur over a ten year span that you would know nothing about.

To quote the great Austin Powers, regarding sleeping through the 70s and 80s...."The 70s and 80s? You're not missing much, baby. There was an energy shortage, and a Flock of Seagulls. That's about it."
